My name is Kathleen Delaney, and I am a candidate for the newly-created position of District Court Judge, Department 25. With four candidates to choose from in the race for Department 25, I appreciate how difficult it is for you, the voter, to know who is most deserving of your vote.
In recent judicial elections, the person with the most signs, or the most endorsements, or even the fanciest website, has not necessarily turned out to be the most qualified person for the job. Actual experience practicing law in the District Court, which I have done almost exclusively and with distinction for the past 17 years, sets my qualifications apart from at least two of my opponents. And, the fact that I have extensive experience representing litigants in both civil and criminal cases truly sets me apart from all of my opponents.
